What it is
Trainings are customized half day, full day, and multi-day deep dive knowledge and skills-building opportunities. Trainings are carefully curated based on client goals, needs, and context, as well as their understanding of racial equity.
Our trainings implement anti-racist facilitation and provide a host of sessions that can be selected by the client. Sessions are also recommended by GamblinConsults based on the Discovery Call and the results from an intake survey that is administrated by GamblinConsults to better understand opportunities to support the client in their journey to dismantle racism.
The selection of a training is generally a good fit if the organization, agency or network realizes that staff or members need a deeper level of understanding on an issue, or set of issues, related to racial equity. Clients have the option of requesting post-training coaching to help them implement the learnings from the training (see group coaching ).

Why it's important
Trainings, unlike workshops, provides an extended time to go deeper to receive specialized support from GamblinConsults. It is filled with a mix of large group and small group conversations, creative activities, and interactive ways to reflection. In addition, trainings provide a mix of theory and practice, and gives attendees opportunities to engage with the material to use the tools in "real time" during the training to receive on-the-spot coaching from GamblinConsults.

GamblinConsults adheres to our values and affirmations to guide our anti-racist facilitation trainings, whereby we intentionally center BIPOC, practice love as a verb, and course correct colonial understanding, actions and behaviors.

- A Discovery Call to understand goals, a brief history of how the client got to where they are on their journey to address racism, and background about who the audience is and what their current understanding of these issues are.
- Two Co-Planning Sessions to actively collaborate together to finalize the goals and objectives, and then creatively plan and brainstorm the agenda based on the client's context and goals.
- Design, administer and review results of intake survey to attendees that will specialize the content of the training sessions for the client, their understanding, and their context.
- Anti-racist facilitated meetings during our Co-Planning Sessions and during the training sessions.
- Co-creation of anti-racist group norms at the beginning of the training sessions.
- Attention to ensuring training sessions presents information in alignment with different learning styles.
- Attention to attendee demographics, as it relates to race and other intersecting identities, and making space for that within the way that the training session is facilitated, framed, and presented.
- Interactive training sessions that lays out the objectives to attendees and provides opportunities for them to actively participate, individually reflect, and share with the group.
- Opportunities for attendees to use the tools and concepts featured in the training sessions.
- Opportunities for attendees to receive on-the-spot coaching on the way they use the tools and concepts featured in the training sessions.
- Clear next steps for attendees, that are aligned with the client's short-term and long-term goals and current context, and help to carry the learnings from the training sessions into implementation post-training.
- Post-training recommendations to the client based on training and attendee experience.
